Flash 9 on Sun Ray followup

Posted on Oct 26, 2007 under sunray |

There have been some improvements on this front since my last post. Adobe’s pre-release flash player 9 update has the smurf effect color problem fixed, and Tobias Oetiker has made a libflashsupport patch that uses the $AUDIODEV environment variable. I have tested both of these on Ubuntu Feisty and Gibon and everything works as it should. My thanks to Adobe and Tobias for making the load averages on my Sun Ray servers increase.

I too have a similar situation, but just for home use. I’m running Feisty and install Flash 9 from your link. Smurfing is solved. Now audio. I compiled and install the libflashsupport. No sound still. When you do a “ldd libflashplayer.so” do you see it depending on the libflashsupport.so? I don’t. Maybe the Flash 9 from the link is newer (a release?). I downloaded the Flash 9 from the normal flash site and files are the same as the Lab site. Could you download the flash found from your link above and verify that it works still or has not changed from what you downloaded a month ago?

    Thanks,
    Scott
